Mental health care for children and young people during the pandemic

Update:

On 17 November 2021 CQC published “Provider collaboration review: Mental health care of children and young people during the COVID-19 pandemic

Action Required:

In June and July 2021, the Care Quality Commission carried out reviews in seven areas of England (including Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICS) to explore how services were working together to support children and young people’s mental health during the pandemic.

Elective home education – ADCS 2021 survey

Update:

On 24 November 2021, ADCS published its latest Elective Home Education survey.

Action Required:

It reports a further, significant increase in total numbers who are EHE, high levels of churn and that covid fears feature high in parents reasons for deregistration.

Update:

On 9 November DfE announced successful applications to the Post-16 Capacity Fund 

Action Required:

 Congratulations to 10 south east providers who were awarded grants out of 39 in total.

Prior Information Notice: DfE recruitment of SEND Advisers

Update:

SEND Improvement and Operations Division at DfE have published a Prior Information Notice giving details of an invitation to freelance SEND specialists to apply for adviser positions.

Action Required:

The advert went live on 1 December 2021 and the appointments will run from 1 April 2022 for two years. Interested parties should pre-register on the DfE procurement portal in order to receive full details.
