ABOUT THE NETWORK
Lead Members have an important leadership role in children’s services. The South East Lead Members’ Network recognises the experience, enthusiasm and expertise that Lead Members bring to this role. As with Directors of Children’s Services, opportunities to share ideas and learn from one another in a supportive and safe environment can benefit everyone.
The SESLIP Programme Board agreed to develop a work-stream to support Lead Members’ learning and development. This is Project 43 in the 2026 – 2027 SESLIP Regional Improvement Plan.
The network is supported by Helen Watson, the Local Government Association’s Regional Children’s Improvement Adviser, as part of the LGA’s ongoing sector-led improvement offer.
