Thematic inspections of regional adoption agencies

On 1 September Ofsted announced that it will be undertaking sample thematic inspections of Regional Adoption Agencies during autumn 2023.

October and December 2023

Ofsted will visit 6 regional adoption agencies (RAAs) across the country as part of the inspection, which was commissioned by the government.

D2I Data Analytics Apprenticeship

The D2I apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with Corndel, is now open for applications, with learning to commence in November of this year.

Cohort #5 NOW BOOKING

The programme is designed to enable local authorities to build data science capability in Children’s Services teams, and empower individual analysts to improve their skills and progress in their careers. It’s fully funded via the Apprenticeship Levy and specifically tailored to help analysts improve children’s services.

LGA Policy Paper

This policy paper was developed based on a range of discussions with stakeholders across councils to understand what local authorities believe they need to see change so they can effectively deliver on their sufficiency duty for early years education and childcare. It explores the challenges in the current system facing local authorities, providers and parents and it looks at what might work going forward.

New JTAI topic: serious youth violence

On 29 August Ofsted published guidance for JTAI inspection of the multi-agency response to children affected by serious youth violence.

JTAIs will examine how well youth offending teams, children’s social care and partners are working to reduce risks and safeguard affected young people, including those subject to criminal exploitation. They will visit a sample of areas, from September, to examine how well youth offending teams, children’s social care, the police and other partners are working to reduce risks and safeguard affected children, including those who have carried out offences.

Leadership in SEND/AP

On 27 September 11.30-12.30, there will be a FREE taster session for the NDTi/The Staff College SEND/AP leadership programme.

Are you experienced in SEND/AP but not experienced in leadership?

Both organisations have collaborated successfully in the South West region of England offering a multi-agency SEND/AP leadership development programme and are now offering a similar programme on a national level utilising their individual expertise and renown in national leadership development programmes Upon Future Leaders Programme | Supported by the DfE and NDTi national programme: Leadership Development – NDTi.
