Programme:

Schools Census Data for 2021-22 published – workforce, pupil and SEND numbers

Update:

On 9 June, DfE published School workforce in England data from the November 2021 school workforce census.

On 9 June, DfE published Schools, pupils and their characteristics from the 21/22 school census, school level annual school census, general hospital school census and alternative provision census.

On 16 June, DfE published Special educational needs in England: January 2022 from the school census on pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and SEN provision in schools.

Action Required:

Pupil to teacher ratios are similar to last year: 20.6 pupils per teacher in nurseries and primary schools, 16.7 in secondary schools, and 6.3 in special and PRU schools.

FSM eligibility increases: 22.5% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, up from 20.8% in 2021

EHCP numbers increase: up 9.2% to 355,566

On 5 May 2022, Dr Camilla Parker gave a regional briefing “The Liberty Protection Safeguards and the Draft Code of Practice: Considerations for Consultation“. The slides are here

Health Education England and Greater Manachester and the North West 16 and 17 years old MCA Health Project have organised a Webinar on Tuesday 11 October 9-1pm.
