Widening community involvement in fostering
The fostering community project is under development. It is looking this financial year to develop an approval process (based on relief carers) which could act as a stepping stone to full approval. It will be aimed at those not yet ready or who don’t want to be full foster carers but want to provide help in other ways. It is also looking at payment models, a QA process, supervision, training and governance. The aim is to develop the plan this financial year with piloting in the next financial year.
There is a project steering group which is meeting monthly to drive forward progress and the project is being overseen by the quarterly Fostering network.
